Living Each Day with More Gratitude

More Gratitude?  The results are in, and the research shows that gratitude flourishes a happier and more successful life. This is because appreciation allows you to see just how wonderful your life is and how much you are thankful for. It increases your positivity, builds strong relationships, and makes you more accountable for your actions. Gratitude allows you to see the world from a different and more positive point of view. In other words, gratitude is your secret to living a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life.

Here are five exercises to try to live each day with more gratitude:

Mindful Yoga

Mindful yoga gives you the tools to learn and understand yourself at a deeper level. The techniques learned are designed to focus on your breathing, bodily sensations and be more present in the moment.

Schedule Complain Hours

This may sound counterintuitive. However, life can be hard no matter how grateful you are for it. You are allowed to complain, but it’s best to limit and control it.

Recognize and Reward You and Those Around You

Recognize the positivity in the world and reward those around you. A sincerely felt “Thank You” can go a long way when genuinely delivered to anyone who serves you. To be frank, they deserve your mindfulness and attention.

5-Minute Journaling Exercises

By far, one of the easiest exercises to try is to write down a few things, people, or experiences you are thankful for each day or week in your journal. Don’t worry about sharing the information unless you want to. Your journal is personal, and it’s up to you how you do it and for how long. The purpose is to reflect on your life in the moment and on your past positively and then make it obvious by writing it down. If you ever struggle to think of something to write, ask yourself, “What is something I couldn’t live without and why?”

Fill a Gratitude Jar or Box

A fun, quick, and simple craft you can create and fill a gratitude jar or box. All required is for you to get a jar or container, decorations, paper, and pens. The decorations you add to the box or jar can be as simple or extravagant as you like. The most important step is what you put in it each day. As you go throughout your day, think of at least three things for which you are grateful. Next, write down each something that sparks gratitude throughout the day on strips of paper. Finally, put your papers into the box. Over time you will accumulate many notes that you can read if you ever feel down, overwhelmed, or need some quick motivation.

Give each exercise a try to help improve your gratitude and understanding of the world. But remember, if it ever feels like a chore, you should move on and try something else.
