Procrastination is a sign.   I know it sounds strange, but if you find yourself procrastinating — pay attention.   It could be a sign from Spirit that you are doing the wrong things at this time.

Think about a common desire — to find a spouse.   You think you should find a spouse and settle down like everyone around you.   Yet you are letting yourself go, not wanting to get out to do things to meet new people and you have extreme anxiety anytime someone mentions that you are such a great catch and they can’t understand you are alone. You may be dating the wrong people or you have outrageous standards for your spouse.  Something deep inside of you is saying “not yet,” so you find every reason to not meet someone.

Perhaps, it is not your time or there are lessons you need to learn to be ready for the love of your life.  Often you are doing everything right but there is something out of your (or theirs) control and you must wait.

This process works with career, losing weight/getting healthy, starting a family, cleaning your home, going back to school, and other things we procrastinate about.  Pay attention to what you procrastinate about.   It is the perfect time to re-evaluate your goals and plans.   It might just be that you are trying to take on too much at one time.

For me I struggle getting back to working out.   The reality is, I am not ready for two days a week let alone the seven day a week pace I had prior to my surgeries.   This fact is okay.   I am pushing too hard, and my body is stepping in to protect me.   I just need to have patience and wait until my body catches up with my heart.

Procrastination I am listening. Until then I will relax, do what I can and stop beating myself up because I am not where I want to be.   In other words, enjoy the journey.   So should you…
