Finding Balance: Mediumship as a Tool, Not a Crutch”

Finding balance between the need between mediumship and therapy isn’t always clear to some people.  Mediumship can offer comfort and clarity, especially during difficult times. But it’s important to understand when it’s helpful and when it may become a crutch. If you’ve been considering another reading soon after your last, it might be time to reflect on whether mediumship is supporting your healing or holding it back.

Recognizing the Signs of Dependence:

    • Urgency to book another reading soon after the first one
    • Feeling like you can’t make decisions without consulting a medium
    • Seeking multiple readings because of deep grief or emotional pain

The Difference Between Therapy and Mediumship:
Mediumship and therapy serve different, yet equally important, roles in personal and emotional well-being.

    • Mediumship: This provides spiritual guidance by connecting you with Spirit or loved ones who have passed. The insights you receive through a medium can offer clarity, closure, and even direction. However, the messages are not intended to address deep-rooted emotional issues or provide long-term support. Mediumship is like receiving a message at a specific point in time; it’s about understanding the spiritual aspects of your life and healing, but it doesn’t provide ongoing tools or strategies for emotional processing.
    • Therapy: Therapy, on the other hand, is a structured process where you work with a trained professional over time. It’s focused on understanding your emotions, behaviors, and patterns in a way that helps you heal and cope with life’s challenges. Therapy provides long-term strategies for managing grief, trauma, anxiety, or other emotional issues. A therapist helps you build the emotional tools to navigate life’s difficulties, while mediumship is more about spiritual insight and messages from the other side.

How They Work Together:
Mediumship can complement therapy by offering spiritual closure or confirming feelings you may have been processing in therapy. For example, after a mediumship reading brings up a personal loss, therapy can help you work through the emotional impact of that loss in a structured, supportive way. They each have a role, but one is not a substitute for the other. It’s essential to know when to seek spiritual guidance and when professional emotional support is needed.

How to Heal and Find Balance:
Journaling is a powerful tool to help you process the messages from a reading and apply them to your life. After a reading, you may feel a flood of emotions or insights, and writing them down allows you to reflect on them over time. The act of journaling helps you track your progress, gain clarity, and ensure that you’re not seeking additional readings prematurely. Here are a few ways journaling can support your healing:

    • Reflecting on Messages: Write down the key messages from your reading and how they resonate with you. Over time, revisit these notes and reflect on how these insights have played out in your life. Journaling allows you to see how Spirit’s guidance unfolds naturally.
    • Processing Emotions: Sometimes, a reading can stir up deep emotions—grief, joy, confusion. By journaling about your feelings, you allow yourself space to process them without needing immediate answers from another reading. This helps to avoid using mediumship as a way to bypass emotional healing.
    • Tracking Personal Growth: Over the course of months, journaling provides a timeline of your spiritual journey. You’ll be able to see patterns of growth, moments of clarity, and shifts in your perspective. This long-term view helps you realize that change and healing take time, reducing the urge to seek frequent readings.
    • Setting Intentions: After a reading, you can use your journal to set personal intentions based on the guidance you received. This could be something like “I will work on forgiving myself” or “I will focus on nurturing my relationships.” Keeping track of your intentions helps you stay grounded and focused on personal growth between readings.

When to Seek Professional Help:
If your grief feels overwhelming or you’re relying on mediumship to cope with daily life, it might be time to speak with a therapist. Journaling can help you realize when emotional issues are too deep to handle alone, serving as a reminder that sometimes professional support is necessary.

Building a Healthy Relationship with Mediumship:
In having a healthy relationship with mediumship, you create balance. And with balance, you’ll naturally know when or if you need a reading. Mediumship is meant to enhance your spiritual growth, not replace your inner wisdom. When boundaries are strong, you’ll feel guided to mediumship when the time is right, without the need to rely on frequent readings.

Remember, mediumship is a beautiful tool for spiritual guidance, but it’s important to use it in a way that complements your personal growth. Trust your own journey, and seek readings when it feels aligned with your needs, not as a solution for emotional pain.
