Subjective and Objective Mediumship: Tapping into Your Spiritual Senses

Have you ever heard of subjective and objective in reference to Mediumship?  In the world of mediumship, one of the most profound realizations comes from understanding how we receive information from spirit. As mediums, we process these messages in different ways, and this can often be classified as subjective or objective. Both types offer valuable insight, but the key to mastery lies in understanding how to navigate them.

What Is Objective Mediumship?

Objective mediumship involves receiving spirit communication through your physical senses. This might sound incredible, but it can and does happen. For example, objective clairvoyance is when you see spirit with your physical eyes—literally seeing a spirit presence standing near you. Likewise, objective clairaudience involves hearing spirit externally, as if they are speaking aloud in the room.

These experiences are considered rare and can be surprising, especially for those new to mediumship. However, they often offer clear, undeniable evidence of spirit communication. Imagine receiving a message from a loved one and hearing their voice out loud—it’s deeply affirming.

What Is Subjective Mediumship?

In contrast, subjective mediumship is a more internal experience. Here, spirit communication is processed through your mind’s eye or inner hearing. Subjective clairvoyance involves receiving symbols, images, or impressions in your mind rather than seeing them with your physical eyes. Subjective clairaudience happens when you hear spirit within your thoughts, almost as if you’re talking to yourself.

Subjective mediumship tends to be more common and familiar to most mediums. However, it can also be more complex to interpret. Personal emotions, beliefs, or experiences may color the impressions you receive. This is where discernment becomes essential.

The Importance of Discernment

As you develop your mediumship, discernment becomes a vital skill. It’s the ability to distinguish between what is genuinely from spirit and what may be influenced by your own thoughts or feelings. This takes practice, but it is a skill that will serve you well in building trust with spirit and in your own abilities.

Over time, you’ll learn to interpret these impressions more clearly – subjective and objective. Whether the experience is subjective or objective, both forms are equally valid. The beauty of mediumship is that no two experiences are alike, and every medium develops their own unique way of connecting with spirit.

Embracing Both Forms of Mediumship

It’s important to embrace both subjective and objective experiences as you walk your path as a medium. You may find that one form resonates more with you than the other, or you may experience a blend of both. The key is to remain open, allowing spirit to communicate in the way that best serves you and those you are reading for.

While objective experiences may offer more tangible proof for those seeking external validation, subjective mediumship often provides richer, more nuanced insight. Trust in your abilities, and remember that with every session, you are strengthening your connection to spirit.

Whether you experience spirit through subjective or objective mediumship, both forms are gifts. Each offers its own value, and by developing your discernment, you’ll grow in confidence and clarity. Stay open to what spirit offers you, and trust that the path of mediumship will continue to evolve as you do.
