There is such a great need for love right now in this world. Everywhere I turn, I even see it — even in our own family. I see all this hatred and it hurts my heart. I see myself lacking patience and, as I was reading the news I had missed, I realized that something has to change.
But how? How does a world that was formed on a patriarchal system change to one that is diverse and accepting of all? Spirituality has taught me many things over the years, one of which is that it is a round table. Nobody sits at the head of it. Yet everyone wants to be in charge and have everything just like they want it.
It was early in my spiritual awakening when I first felt this truth. My life was changing dramatically, and I was struggling with every aspect of mediumship and where I fit in this world. How was I going to make this part of my life? The questions felt endless. But then I found my spiritual family. They accepted me — not for what I could do, not for what I believed, but simply for who I was. They expected nothing but love and light, and in that space of acceptance, I found my footing.
I believe that if we want to see a world with more love, it starts within. People need to heal their own wounds, tend to their hearts, and embrace their shadows. When we do that inner work, we become more capable of extending compassion to others. Love is not something we demand; it’s something we cultivate. But it doesn’t stop there. Change for those who are comfortable and are in positions of power will not be easy. They will not want to step aside (looking at you Chuck Schumer) and let those ready to take the helm in a way that this world is more inclusive and loving. We also have to break down the barriers, call out the bullies, and lead others to the light.
The round table is a beautiful concept that spirituality has shown me. There is no head, no position of power that overshadows another. We are all part of the whole. It reminds me of the values embodied in Star Trek — a vision of a future where we all matter, where diversity is celebrated, and where collaboration triumphs over competition. Imagine a world where we lived by that truth. A world where voices were heard, differences were honored, and kindness was the currency of our interactions.
It’s not impossible. It starts with us. One moment of patience, one choice to see the humanity in another, one act of love. That’s how we begin to create the world we long for.
Let’s be the ones to make that change.
