What Is Divination?
Have you ever noticed a shadow on the wall that seemed to whisper a secret? Or a sudden shiver when a thought or word carried more weight than reason could explain? These fleeting moments are divination at work — Spirit speaking in symbols, patterns, and whispers.
Divination is not fortune-telling. It is a sacred dialogue between the visible and invisible, between the conscious mind and the subtle currents of Spirit. Whether through the turn of a card, the dance of smoke, or the curve of a flower petal, divination invites us to notice what might otherwise slip by. It asks us to pause, to watch, to listen with more than ears.
There are countless ways Spirit reaches out. Tarot and oracle cards unfold stories through symbols. Runes, bones, and coins speak through chance and pattern. Fire and water reveal hidden truths in their movement. Even a ribbon twisted in your hands or a leaf drifting on a breeze can carry guidance. Each tool is a bridge, a portal to understanding that comes when we step quietly into attention.
For me, divination is intimacy with Spirit. When I lay out tarot cards, I feel the unfolding story beneath the surface of life. My ribbons, collected over the years, hold personal energy, and Spirit knows exactly how to drive the conversation through them — each twist or drape a gentle message I can feel and interpret. These practices teach me to slow down, trust what I sense beyond logic, and notice the subtle signs appearing in everyday life. Over time, they have deepened my intuition, my clarity, and my capacity to hold space for others seeking guidance.
At its essence, divination is an invitation: to attune, to trust, and to remember that Spirit is always near. The tools are merely the language — a poetry written in symbols, patterns, and moments of quiet revelation.
Reflective Question:
What small sign or symbol has Spirit sent you recently, and how did it make you pause?
