It is always an honor to speak and I am most grateful for the opportunity to speak on January 21st about Boundaries.   We all struggle with healthy boundaries.   Many times they are created to keep us safe and other times This talk covers the process of how I use My Three Words and implementing them with the Principles of Spiritualism.   I found it necessary to talk about the 6th, 7th and 8th Principles.   This resulted on a talk regarding Principles, Rules & Boundaries.

So this is the year of my connecting with not only my loved ones and friends, but most importantly myself.   That means I need to connect with who I am as a person and spiritually.   It also means there has been some disconnections for me as well.

What drew me to Spiritualism was the Principles that we recite each Sunday.   I have had issue lately of the people that seem to just say them on Sunday and not live them every day of their lives.   This is something Joann and I talk about on a regular basis – WALK THE WALK.   It is not just something you say, it is how we are to live our lives.   I am not pointing my finger at any of you, but at myself.

I spoke about Principles, Rules and Laws.    It was an exploration of the three Spiritual Principles.   I reminded the listener about the need for balance.   That sometimes we need to flex with them to find true happiness.    Boundaries are often put in place to keep someone safe, and there are times that we must push past those boundaries to grown and become who we want to be.

Take the time and evaluate the boundaries you have placed in your life.   Are they helping your?   Or are they hindering your growth?   Then there are the Principles and Rules that you live with.   We are taught the Golden Rule, but are you aware that that Rule is part of a set of rules?  There is:

  • Rule of Iron
    • Is meant to be both indisputable and unavoidable
    • Or as I see it the “my way or the highway” rule
  • Bronze Rule –
    • If they are not bothering you; don’t bother them
    • Or the “mind your own business” rule
  • Silver Rule –
    • Do NOT do unto to others as you would not have them do unto you
    •  Or the “passive aggressive” rule
  • Platinum Rule –
    • Do unto others as they would want done
    • Or the “why haven’t we heard of this one before ” rule
