Life is difficult at times.   Sometimes we cannot just be.  We forget that we are here for the human experience.  The messy complicated interconnection with others.   We first want to please our parents and family.   Then we go to school and  try and fit in with our classmates.   Often in direct conflict of the first.
In the process we forgot ourselves.   If you are lucky you are able to be yourself from the onset.   Others take years and some tragically never find their voice and live their lives out proud.  I saw Kinky Boots awhile back and it spoke to me and changed me deeply.

Just be who you want to be.

A simple statement, yet so many of us find it impossible to do that.   This is the best Broadway show I have ever seen.   I was so glad that I got to see it with my friend Jen.  I don’t think she will ever fully understand what this has meant to me.
It so spoke to me.   Be who I want to be.  There was a reason I saw this show.   To become who I need to become.    I cried so much during some of the songs.  It has really helped me understand my journey…
