Try: Embracing Self-Love
Try. A simple word with powerful meaning. I posted this video back in 2019 by Colbie Caillat, and it left a lasting impact on me. Looking back at that time in my life now I reflect the power of letting go of what no longer served me. In a beautiful, uncomplicated way, it made me reflect on how often we try to be someone we’re not.
For so long, I have been trying to be someone—someone others would like. I forgot that the most important approval comes from within. I forgot that I need to like myself first, that I only need to please myself. The opinions of others? They are none of my business.
What is important is that we must like ourselves first, then others will too. We have to be willing to be vulnerable in who we are so others can relate to us.
Simple Change
It’s amazing how freeing it is when you make that shift in mindset. Happiness doesn’t require a dramatic change or a loud declaration. It can be as simple as changing your perspective—choosing to love yourself, just as you are.
So, I encourage you to try. Letting go of the need for external validation. Try embracing who you are, without compromise. Try loving yourself today, and see how much lighter life feels.
Take that leap of faith. You are enough.
