Unhooking Information: Building Trust in Mediumship
Building trust with Spirit can be a frustrating process. As mediums, we often receive a flood of information from Spirit—images, feelings, dates, or symbols. The challenge arises when we try to interpret or connect those details too quickly. This is where the practice of unhooking information becomes essential to delivering accurate messages.
When we attempt to make sense of the information immediately, we risk creating a narrative that may not align with the sitter’s experience. Instead, by unhooking information, we allow each piece to stand alone, trusting that the recipient will recognize and understand its significance. This practice encourages us to stay in flow with Spirit rather than overthinking or rushing to conclusions.
For example, if you receive a connection to a July birthday and an image of a car, instead of assuming that the two are related, offer each piece separately. By saying, “I’m sensing a connection to July”, “importance of a birthday” and then “I’m being shown a car,” you allow the recipient to connect the dots themselves. This can lead to a much clearer and more meaningful reading, as the pieces fall into place naturally.
Unhooking information requires patience and trust. Sometimes, the recipient may not immediately understand what you’re sharing. In these cases, you may be planting a seed—a piece of evidence that will make sense to them later. It’s crucial to trust that Spirit has a reason for sharing each detail, even if it doesn’t make sense to you in the moment.
By practicing unhooking information, you strengthen your connection with Spirit and build trust with your recipients. The most impactful readings come when you allow the details to unfold naturally, without forcing them into a story.
