What makes a house a home?

In my Real Estate life, I assist people in finding their homes.   It is a simple process in theory but in reality it is one of the most complicated things going.
I am not an order taker — I am a fulfiller of dreams and I can make magic happen for those I work with when they trust me.   Both home buyer and seller.
As a Medium I realize now that much of my success as a REALTOR has been my ability to find what a prospective buyer needs to make a house a home.   I can honestly say it is not what they say that makes me know the right home, but the emotions they express while looking.
It is never the number of bedrooms or bathrooms or the square footage.   It is always about the common space where people gather.  The Living/Family Rooms, Kitchen and Yards that people crave for their homes.   It is the sense of community they feel.   It is their hopes and dreams of a beautiful life filled with happiness.
Often it is about bringing two very different visions together into one cohesive place that a couple will call home.  I hear about the planned Thanksgiving dinners in the dining rooms, the dreams of opening Christmas presents by the fire, and how beautiful their baby daughter will look on the day she graduates high school in the garden.   There have been times as we walk into the house before they have even seen it, that I hear a voice of a loved one say “they are home.”
So if you are looking to purchase a home, be ready to trust the REALTOR  you work with to take your dreams and turn them into reality.   It is one of the most beautiful experiences when someone finds their forever home.  No matter how hard they try – websites have yet to replace the ability of an emphatic REALTOR.
