George Orwell Wisdom for Today
This post about thoughts from George Orwell was originally posted on June 11, 2016, I think it resonates with the times we are in right now.
I see this so much clearly now. I think to myself that the world is spinning around and there is so much negativity. We all have lost the ability to think for oneself. We allow the opinions of the idiot box decide our opinions.
I have said this before — I feel like the little boy in the Emperor’s New Clothes.
I watch the political process, delegates and who is going to vote for who and the reasons why. So many of these people have not thought for themselves and come to the conclusion that x candidate is the best. I cringe when they spit out a tidbit that I have seen scrolling the internet. They are pandering for votes, not to do what is best for the greater population. It is all about control and power.
Our Broken System
I don’t know about you, but it makes me sick that we have a broken system and no way to fix it. Those in positions of power have created the Acme Loophole Company (thanks to my husband for that tidbit – he has a building on his layout with that name) and they are absolutely afraid of losing any perceived advantage they may have.
The system is broken. There has to be a better way! I don’t have the answers, but I know one thing that the way things are MUST change. We must all be aware — be it those in a social club, church or in the US political system.
I know one thing for sure. Silence allows things to happen that none of us wish to see happen. Do what you have to to make this a more loving and compassionate world. One letter, one act of kindness can and does make a difference.
