Are you wondering if you’re progressing with your mediumship? Growth in mediumship rarely announces itself with fanfare. It shows up like a whisper rather than a shout — quiet at first, then unmistakable when you look back. Many developing mediums think progress means clear visions, strong voices, or dramatic spirit encounters. Yet, for many of us, development unfolds in subtle layers long before anything that obviously appears.
Early in my journey, I didn’t work like other mediums. I didn’t see or hear spirit. I had to develop those skills through practice, trust, and the guidance of the right mentor. Looking back, my first signs of progress weren’t messages — they were shifts inside myself. I felt more aware, more open, more receptive. Even without visions or voices, something was growing.
A turning point came when I trusted that my first teacher wasn’t the right fit. I listened to that knowing, stepped forward in faith, and found a mentor who supported how I worked. Progress bloomed fast after that. Development that once felt hard became natural. Sometimes the greatest sign of growth is finally trusting yourself.
With students, progress often appears in small moments. A message that lands. A detail that surprises them. A feeling that becomes clearer. I like to circle back to earlier exercises so they can witness how much more they perceive now. Journaling helps too — it reveals subtle improvements they’d otherwise miss.
Many beginners overlook one important truth: mistakes are signs of growth. They rush past them, eager to get it “right,” not realizing the mistake itself is a lesson. A misread symbol can lead to a breakthrough in understanding. A missed detail might teach discernment. Mistakes stretch us, sharpen us, and move us forward.
When you recognize progress, confidence grows. Trust deepens. It becomes easier to notice future breakthroughs because you’ve seen them once already. Growth builds momentum.
You’re progressing even when you feel stuck. Especially when you feel stuck. Progress lives in every attempt, every exercise, every moment you stay curious and keep going.
Journal Prompts for Reflection
- What signs of growth have I overlooked or minimized?
- Where did I improve without realizing it in the moment?
- How has trusting myself changed my development?
- What recent “mistake” taught me something valuable?
- How can I more clearly track my growth going forward?
