Tarot Tuesday: Aces

Tarot Tuesday: Aces

Today I am going to focus on the Aces.   Numerically they are considered ones, the corresponding one in the Major Arcana is The Magician.   So it should be noted that the Magician displays all four of these tools on his card.   The only card to do so.

If you take numerology into account, the Wheel of Fortune card will reduce to 1 as well.   Tens will also reduce to 1, so pay attention if you have a 10 reversed in a reading, the problem may be related to the Ace of that suit.

It is said if three or more Aces appear in a reading be ready for a new opportunity or a fresh start.  Find them reversed, expect delays in getting things off the ground.  Don’t worry if in a reading you do not have any Aces, it just means your life is balanced, steady and pretty predictable.

Each one of these are offered up by a hand in a cloud, as if they are coming directly from Spirit.   Each one is holding the symbol for the suit (a sword, a pentacle, cup and wand) giving you a place to start.   So we are talking about the purest quality of the suit and they all represent potential.  Often the Ace is a bearer of news, upright good, reversed bad.   Some see the Aces as the bridge between the Major Arcana and the minor cards.

When I see an Ace, I see this as a beneficial, positive and life-enhancing sign.  Remember to look for the potential in every situation.

Let’s look at each one in depth:

Swords

  • We are talking about mental clarity, truth and justice
  • Upright – breakthrough, victory
  • Reversed – lack of clarity
  • Element – Air

Pentacles

  • We are talking about manifestation, security and practicality
  • Upright – Financial opportunity
  • Reversed – Lack of planning
  • Element – Earth

Wands

  • We are talking about courage, creativity and confidence
  • Upright – creation
  • Reversed – things not happening, delays
  • Element – Fire

Cups

  • We are talking about emotions, intuition and love
  • Upright – compassion
  • Reversed – not dealing with emotions
  • Element – Water

As you can see there is a lot of things going on with these cards and as you move forward your interpretation of these cards will change and you advance and understand the relationships with them.   You may want to keep a journal of readings you do for yourself.   Over time you can go back and gain insight that you did not have prior.

Good luck and next week I will see where Spirit moves me to share…
