Writing has been a challenge for me this year.   I get easily distracted since my move to Rochester.   There are many wonderful reasons I have been redirected by Spirit.   Living in the moment, really soaking in what is happening at that moment.   Settling in, building a new routine has continued to be a challenge.   Who knew I was such a creature of habit when it came to writing, for so many years it was the 10 o’clock hour that I could find the words to put down.   Not now, when that hour is precious time George and I spend together.

Trying to clean up the closing of one door to open up space for what is new in my life.   Real Estate was so much part of my life, and now without it, I am redefining my identity and catching up on sleep.   No longer am I going to bed at Midnight or later and up at 6 or 7 in the morning.    Most nights now I am in bed before 10pm and up around 6:30am.

I am cooking from scratch instead of eating fast food or a frozen dinner.   Breakfast has been a shared experience with George as well as lunch and dinner.   I find joy in making him things he loves in a new and healthier way.   All that cooking has created stops and starts in writing.

All these changes, I realize so to does my writing need to change.  No longer am I writing at 10pm but that I need to find my new normal.  Which seems to be getting up early and writing when I am fresh and not frazzled.  I now have that luxury to redefine how I write.   There are several books that are haunting me — they need to come out.    I want to write more here as well.   In addition to writing, there is the need to keep up with Social Media to share the writing with others.

Today I woke up at 4am wide awake, pulled myself out of bed and into the living room to write.   It is a quite time, just me and the cat.    Not much different that my late night binges of writing.  So in the last two hours I have edited a couple of posts, worked on an outline for one of the books and draft of my talk for Sunday.   All in all — I say it was well worth getting up.
