Get out and vote!

Today is election day.  I have spoken about the importance of voting before.   Many people feel it is not necessary to vote, and I believe that you really need to step up and vote.   Politics is distasteful and it has paralyzed many.   Right now the system is what it is.  Work within it to create a world you want to see.

I am not telling you who to vote for — that is a personal decision.  I don’t judge those that vote.  I do however; judge those that skip it.   Here is the deal — there were many people that fought for us to have the right to vote.   Do you research, trust that you know enough to make a good decision.   If later you find out it was not a good one, learn from it for the next time you vote.

Be a good citizen and get out and vote.   Become informed, make a decision for yourself.   If you don’t someone else is in control of your destiny.   You may feel after the last major election your vote doesn’t matter and you are wrong.   Each time you consider your choices it helps make you a better person.   Because you can look yourself in the mirror and know that you thought for yourself.

I look back in history and see things that make me uncomfortable mainly because I am about to see history repeat itself if people don’t start thinking.   More importantly acting for themselves.   To many people have thrown their hands in the air and have given up.   Resigned that there is absolutely nothing that can be done.   Well of course that is what is going to happen because that is all that they believe.

Change History now – Change your thinking and Vote!

This election may not change much but the next one, the one after that and going forward your attitude will change.  When we start with ourselves we then affect those around us.   Soon enough we find that the course of history will change as well.   While you are out there doing your civic duty it is a great time to smile at the poll workers who are volunteering to assist in this process.   Ladies as you cast your vote today silently thank Susan B. Anthony and her band of brave women who fought for our right to do so.
