Here is the sixth in a series of an occasional sharing of an “inspirational” song– and the first suggested by one of our readers (thank you!). We put “inspirational” in quotes because this will not necessarily be not in the traditional sense, like something you might sing in church. We welcome you to message us with what songs inspire you.

Sesame Street has its 50th Anniversary this month and has touched people around the world. So have The Muppets, both inside and outside of Sesame Street. Perhaps the most famous song, performed by the original Muppet, Kermit the Frog, with the voice of the original Muppeteer, the incomparable Jim Henson (1936-1990), is this one, written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher. It has been covered by artists as diverse as Willie Nelson and Gwen Stephani, but we like Kermit’s version, which was a Billboard Top 40 Hit (!) in 1979, the best.
