Paying Attention has been a theme lately in my life.   Back in November 2016 I wrote this post, it meant a lot to me then.  Today even more.   Since then, so much has happened in my life.   It is hard to believe that it has only been four years.   Paying attention to signs I get, to conversations I have and to the little details.   There are many covers of this song, each one touches me to the core.
I now know that the song haunted me, because the composer was soon to leave this earth.   I didn’t know that was why I was coming up to it but I felt the importance of of the song.   Why so many recording artists have recorded it and why it is a favorite in many churches.   This is Leonard Cohen’s legacy to all of us.
It is about faith, the faith one must have in the darkest hours, the reminder to be thankful for what we have.   One of the simplest ways to do that is with songs.   Just think about it as you hear the words, with music so beautiful that you can’t help but feel inspired.

Original Post – Paying Attention

Over the past month, this song Hallelujah has been coming up in my life.   It started back in July when I heard it.    This past month it has popped up in even the most unusual places.   I walked into a store and it was playing, I got in my car another version played and this morning and I checked email and Facebook there it was in yet another rendition.
I have to wonder what Spirit is trying to express to me right now, this moment.  It is important and I must pay attention.   Apparently there is something here I need to pay attention to.   I need to be silent with it and let it come.   For I know one thing when I need to know Spirit will let me know.
So I am open and waiting to understand.  I sit patiently with a beautiful song.
