candidates 2016

Citizens Responsibility

It is all of our responsibility to ensure that this country is run properly.   There is a lot of talk these days about this one or that one being evil.   Everyone is focusing their efforts to vote for the lesser of the two evils.   Well as Jerry Garcia said “choosing the lesser of two evils, is still selecting evil.”

There is so much misinformation out there and confusion, I feel compelled to write about it.   It is all Citizens Responsibility – To Keep Elected Officials Accountable.  Part of that is being educated and voting for officials that most closely represent our values.

First off there is not just a choice between Republican or Democratic candidates.   There are two other major candidates.   So perhaps before you decide to vote for the lesser of two evils, you investigate the other two candidates.   Learning all you can may help you make a decision.   Here is an independent source for you.

The other thing that blows my mind is in the last two weeks I have had conversations with three different people that believed that because they are registered Republican or Democratic that in the General Election coming up that they must vote for that candidate.   I explained that is not the case. They were relieved because they didn’t want to vote for that specific candidate.   And before you say well they must be Democrats or Republicans.   Nope; it cross the parties.
But if I can come across three people who have that misconception, who else doesn’t understand?  What other concepts and responsibilities of being a citizen of this country are not understood?  How many people are unaware of the fact that there are options to the bad reality TV we have been subjected to the last two years?
I hope this helps eliminate some confusion for you.  If you have not registered to vote, you still have time to do so.   For more information visit this website.    If you live in another state you can Google for the most recent information for your state.
Don’t let anyone bully you into voting for someone you do not believe in.   If you don’t understand something, there is nothing wrong with asking for clarification.   There are no stupid questions.  Oh wait there is; the question not asked.
