How do you fix a broken heart?  Patience.  I know not the answer you wanted to hear, but it is the truth.   It takes time to heal.
The reality of a broken heart is that it takes time. No two situations are the same and the amount of time to heal never the same.  The trick is to not give up.  Just because the Universe turned upside down on you does not mean there isn’t more to come.
One must have patience to mend their broken heart.   I have learned over time that with each disappointment and heartbreak there is something else beyond that pain.  Perhaps not today or tomorrow but soon.
At this time, you will need to be patient as the Universe works on giving you exactly what you need.   So help the Universe along the way, for now be grateful for what you do have.   Take care of yourself, get out and do some new things.

Some ideas for you:

  • Enjoy this time alone.
  • Go out with friends.
  • Take yourself to the movies.
  • Where you can do what you want, when you want to do it.
  • Binge watch a series that you never saw before. (I recently did this — Game of Thrones)
  • Go help an elderly neighbor with some chores.
  • Soup for breakfast, cereal for dinner.
  • Get a massage, facial, manicure or a pedicure.
  • Join a random Meetup group.
  • Take a class in something that interests you.
  • Go to a Street Fair by yourself, explore and see what makes you smile.
  • Take yourself out for ice cream. (this is one of my favorite pick me ups)
  • Go for a hike in the woods by yourself.
  • It is time to pick up a craft you enjoy.
  • Plant a garden you have always wanted to.
  • Go to the library and get a good book or twenty.  (For every fiction I read, I read a biography)
  • Volunteer somewhere.
  • Write out a letter to an old friend, mail it.
  • Explore your local community and take a tour.
  • Change your home to reflect your interests.
  • Pick up a cookbook and try some new recipes.
  • Clean out your closet of all the clothes you have not worn in the past two years.
  • Change your bedroom furniture around.
  • Buy yourself a new dress.
There are countless ways to fill yourself with love.   That is the quickest way to fix that broken heart of yours.  What are you going to do?  The Universe gives us more of what we focus on.   Help it out and start enjoying life on your own terms.   Love will discover you…  First off you need to love yourself…
